Flixbus is one of the most popular intercity bus services in Europe. The buses are extremely comfortable, equipped with free WiFi, onboard outlets, and have a liberal luggage policy! The cherry on the cake?! Toilets in the bus! I have used Flixbus generously during my travels across Europe and can only recommend them.
A few years ago, they released a new voucher called ‘Interflix’ and I have been an avid fan of these vouchers!
What is Flixbus Interflix Voucher?
Flixbus Interflix is a set of 5 voucher codes priced at 99€. Each voucher code can be redeemed individually while booking a trip with Flixbus. This means that each voucher is approximately 20€ (or if you want to precise, 19.8€) in value and can be used to ‘buy’ any trip using Flixbus. In layman terms, with this voucher, you can bring down the price of ANY FLIXBUS TICKET to just 20€.
Why Flixbus Interflix Voucher?
Let us visit a hypothetical situation wherein I want to travel from Munich to Rome. If you search for tickets on the flixbus website, the possible tickets to Rome from Munich are listed as shown below,
A direct bus from Munich to Rome costs a whopping 59.99€!
I don’t have that much money.
So, that’s when I use my beloved, Interflix! If I use an Interflix voucher for this trip, I’ll end up paying only 20€ (precisely, 19.8€) for my ticket to Rome. That’s a 66% discount on the said ticket to Rome.
Definitely a win-win situation, don’t you think?!
To sum up, these are extremely useful if you want to travel from one place to another and the ticket prices exceed 20€. So, use them for long distance bus rides!
Personally, I love Interflix and the freedom it entails. Last month when I went to Poland from Munich, Germany, the tickets were priced at 100€ for a round trip. Using interflix, I brought it down to 40€!
Flixbus Interflix Voucher: Terms and Conditions
While using these vouchers, there are a few terms and conditions that you must be aware of,
- Validity and Activation Period
The vouchers take 2 to 3 days to be activated and are valid for only a period of 3 months from the date of purchase. I have heard some stories wherein the vouchers were valid for 6 months irrespective of the expiry date. But, to be on the safe side, I recommend using them within the first 3 months.
- Ownership of the Voucher
If you buy Interflix, it is meant to be used for your trips. Flixbus clearly states that the vouchers aren’t transferable i.e., if you buy the voucher, you must use them and not anyone else.
However, I believe that there is a glitch in the system because a lot of people I know have used their vouchers for a friend or a colleague and nobody seemed to care while boarding! In fact, if you are inching towards the end of your validity period and haven’t used these vouchers yet, selling these vouchers could definitely be an option (not recommended by Flixbus!)
- Direct Return (Round) Trip Not Possible
Flixbus states that you cannot use these vouchers for return trips. For example, if you are planning a round trip from Munich to Rome (i.e., Munich – Rome – Munich) as per the terms and conditions issued by Flixbus, you can only use this voucher for one leg of the journey. However, if you are hopping from one place to another, i.e., Munich – Rome – Florence – Munich, then you can use the voucher on all three legs of your journey!
Again, I have used these vouchers for round trips several times and nobody batted an eye at me. I think it’s a glitch in the system which I have mindlessly exploited! If you are planning to use them for round trips, make sure to book each leg separately with a different voucher code!
- Only Direct Trips Possible
The vouchers are only valid for direct trips and not valid for connecting tickets with a transfer. For instance, let’s revisit the dummy scenario from Munich to Rome,
In this case, the tickets are valid only for the direct route from Munich to Rome (second option). This ticket is not valid for the first option which requires you to change buses at some point. This makes sense from a business perspective because otherwise, people would further exploit the shit out of this offer by travelling all the way across Europe!

How to buy and redeem Interflix?
You can directly buy these vouchers from the Flixbus website. Upon payment, you will receive an email similar to the one shown below with the voucher codes. The code takes 2 to 3 days to activate so make sure to buy them well in advance if you have immediate travel plans!
Once you receive the codes, look for a long trip that costs at least 30 euros to maximize your profit and head to the billing page. Enter the voucher code in the box called ‘Enter Voucher’
The price will reset to ‘0.00’. Complete the transaction to receive an invoice similar to the one shown below,
That’s it!
